The Flower Fields: A Self-Serve Flower Experience

Spring Field of Red Poppies

The Flower Fields

The Flower Fields are Open from april through october.

Since opening our flower farm, we’ve continuously heard how folks want to come see our “fields of flowers”. But that ideal image of gorgeous fields filled with blooming flowers isn’t at all how a specialty, cut flower farm looks. We have created The Flower Fields to give our community those beautiful flower fields you’ve told us you want to see. We’ve taken 9 acres on our farm and are continuously planting out .5 acre blocks in the hopes that we will have fields of flowers available for you to come enjoy or take photography during the months of April through October.

It is our hope that you’ll come enjoy the beauty of this space, capture some great photos on your phone (we love it when you tag us), and reconnect with nature by listening to the birds and pollinators who also love these fields. Cost is $8 per person over age 2. This is a self-serve experience and you are welcome to visit between dawn and dusk daily. Look for the two orange cones marking entrance to the fields (better signs and gravel are on their way) after the grain bin on the right hand side, before our home; turn to the right and park perpendicular to the driveway down in the grass. Please do not drive out to our barn and greenhouse production area. Payment by cash in the provided Honor Box or Venmo @riverbendblooms.

Professional Photographers: Are you looking for a unique location to host your next photo shoot? Our golden hour sunsets are perfectly positioned and The Flower Fields were created with you in mind. There are no reservations needed, as it is a self-serve experience. Cost for professional photographers is $35/session. One session equals one client group. For example if you have mini-sessions, each client group is $35; so 10 different mini sessions would be $35 x 10 = $350. Payment by cash in the provided Honor Box or Venmo @riverbendblooms. You are welcome to move any of the Props to wherever you need them to capture the perfect shot. Your clients are welcome to move throughout the fields and we do have a strip mowed to the centers for those who prefer a cleared path.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQS:

The Flower Fields are open daily from april through october.

What are your hours? The Flower Fields are available from dawn until dusk from April through October.  Those times change daily, so ask Google what time sunrise/sunset is for the day you’d like to visit.

Do I need an appointment? No. It is self-serve. You can not reserve a time.

How do I pay? There is an Honor Box on the table where you can put cash or scan our Venmo QR code to pay.

What does it cost? Professional photographers pay $35 per client session. Each prom couple equals one client. So a group of 6 Prom couples would pay 6 X $35= $210

Individuals wanting to take their own photos or just enjoy the fields pay $8 per person above the age of 2.

Can I bring my pet? No. We love fur babies, but at this time we aren’t allowing pets.

Where do I park? Look for the signs with arrows marking the entrance to the fields on the right hand side, immediately after the grain bin. Turn to the right and park perpendicular to the fence.  Please do not drive out to our barn, greenhouse production area. Please park so that you do not block others from entering or exiting the fields.

What is going to be in bloom and how long will they last?  This question is always hard to answer because we don’t control the weather and can never be sure how long the blooms in a field will last.  Watching our stories on social media is the best way to see what is currently blooming and I try to note when a field is at peak.

Is this a U-Pick? No, this is not a U-Pick.  It is meant to be a beautiful space to visually enjoy.

Do you have restrooms? No, we do not have restroom facilities. The closest public restrooms are at the IGA in Smiths Grove, which is 12 miles away.

What should I wear? During the heat of summer, we recommend wearing light weight clothing and coming early in the morning or later in the evening. Shoes that can handle uneven ground are recommended, as it is a farm and the paths are mown, but not necessarily level.
